The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock (EZT) is a rural municipality of around 7,200 people. The predominant industry is agriculture but there are many businesses there such as livestock feed manufacturers and farm machinery dealerships.
The Skeeter Space Pac is a combined tank, hose reel, crosslay, and foam system, combined with patient transport capabilities. It can be used for accessing remote areas and flowing water, car fires, wildfires, and confined space fires. This unit will help them respond to remote areas with difficult access by truck and only by foot in order to combat grass and wild fires.
I called Chief Scott Alexander with the good news but I wasn’t sure what a space pac was. He explained that it’s a small fire suppression unit that goes on the back of an ATV, allowing them to access areas not possible with a truck. He also invited me to come up and go for a ride with the entire crew. I would love that!
